Investing in the Future of Nursing

The RN to BSN Scholarship supports diploma or associate degree-prepared nurses pursuing a bachelor’s or higher degree in nursing.

Award: Up to US $5,000 per year

Eligibility:

• Enrolled in an accredited nursing school program with a Sigma chapter (Sigma membership is encouraged but not required when eligible for an invitation)
• Pursuing a bachelor’s or higher degree in nursing
• Ranking in the top 35% of your nursing class

Submission requirements:

• Most recent transcript from a diploma or associate degree program or school of nursing, and proof of acceptance for the academic year the scholarship is to be used
• Biographical “sketch” submitted according to NIH guidelines. (See the NIH standard format for bio sketches.) 
• Essay outlining career goals, professional affiliations, and community service completed (maximum one page)
• At least two letters of support

This scholarship is funded by the Sigma Foundation for Nursing’s Karen A. Stiefel Harrison Scholarship Fund.

The Helene Fuld Trust Scholarship supports nurses enrolled in accelerated or advanced degree programs at US nursing schools.

Award: Up to US $5,000 per academic year

Eligibility:

• Enrolled in either an Accelerated Second Degree program (first degree cannot be in nursing) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at an accredited US school of nursing

This scholarship is made possible through a grant from the Helene Fuld Health Trust to the Sigma Foundation for Nursing.

The Dion Family Scholarship supports baccalaureate-prepared nurses pursuing an advanced degree in nursing informatics or gerontological nursing.

Award: Up to US $5,000 annually

Eligibility:

• Baccalaureate-prepared nurse enrolled in an accredited program
• Pursuing an advanced degree in nursing informatics or gerontological nursing

This scholarship is funded by the Sigma Foundation for Nursing’s Dion Family Permanent Fund.

All applicants must submit:

• Current transcripts (if already enrolled) or proof of acceptance for the academic year the scholarship is to be used, from an accredited school of nursing
• Essay
• At least two letters of support
• Biographical sketch or CV: Nursing degree applicants must submit an NIH-formatted bio sketch. Non-nursing-degree applicants must submit a CV (Curriculum Vitae).
