International Nurses Day 2017 statement from STTI President Cathy Catrambone
Published on 10 May 2017

In honor of International Nurses Day 2017, I offer my sincere thanks to STTI members worldwide for all you do every day to make a difference in the lives of our patients, families, communities and populations that we serve.
We celebrate International Nurses Day on 12 May to mark the birthdate of Florence Nightingale, who said, “Were there none who were discontented with what they have, the world would never reach anything better.” You are living out that sentiment daily. Thank you for your deep commitment to the nursing profession. Congratulations for providing compassionate care that is grounded in science, for addressing access and equity to health services, and for promoting healthy lives. I encourage everyone to reflect and take pride in the profound influence you have in advancing STTI’s world health mission.
