Honorees will be inducted during Sigma’s 33rd International Nursing Research Congress

INDIANAPOLIS —Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) will induct 32 world-renowned nurse researchers into the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame during the organization’s 33rd International Nursing Research Congress in Edinburgh, Scotland, in July. During the event, these 32 individuals—representing Australia, Canada, Italy, Nigeria, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States—will be presented with the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame award and participate in a conversation with Sigma’s president.

“These inspiring, world-renowned nurse researchers represent the staggering, collective impact of nursing and nursing research on global healthcare,” said Sigma President Kenneth Dion, PhD, MSN, MBA, RN, FAAN. “I congratulate them on their induction into the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame, and I look forward to discovering more about their research journeys and experiences.”

This year marks the 13th presentation of the prestigious Hall of Fame honor. The 2022 inductees will join 238 previously inducted nurse researchers, all of whom have achieved significant and sustained national or international recognition and whose research has improved the profession of nursing and the people it serves. The 2022 induction, conversations with the honorees, and special sessions showcasing their research will take place on Monday, 25 July 2022. Longtime partner Wiley has sponsored the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame presentation since its inception.

Danielle Chilvers said, “Wiley’s sponsorship of the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame awards allows us to recognize outstanding nurse researchers while also expressing our continued admiration and support for Sigma Theta Tau and the nursing profession. On behalf of everyone at Wiley, I congratulate the 2022 honorees and celebrate their well-deserved recognition.”

Sigma’s annual nursing research congress attracts approximately 800 nurse researchers, students, clinicians, and leaders focused on evidence-based research. The theme for the 33rd International Nursing Research Congress is Transforming Global Nursing Knowledge Through Research, Scholarship, and Innovation.
