Sigma Nursing announces 2023 Healthy Work Environment Award recipients

INDIANAPOLIS—Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) has announced the clinical and academic honorees for the 2023 Healthy Work Environment Award. The academic honoree is the School of Nursing at UT Health San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas, USA. The clinical honoree is Long Island Jewish Valley Stream, Unit 2E in Valley Stream, New York, USA.

The Healthy Work Environment Award honorees will be recognized during Sigma’s Creating Healthy Work Environments event, which will be held in Austin, Texas, USA, 10-12 February 2023. The representatives of each honoree will present plenary sessions on Saturday, 11 February. Representing the School of Nursing at UT Health San Antonio will be Megan Pfitzinger Lippe, PhD, MSN, RN, and Jacqueline McGrath, PhD, RN, FNAP, FAAN. They will present “Faculty, Staff, and Students Matter.” Kerlene T. Richards, DNP RN NE-BC CCRN, and Rachel Landau, BSN, RN-BC, will represent Long Island Jewish Valley Stream Unit 2E and present “One Unit's Journey Toward Building a Culture of Compassion & Collaboration #Healthyworkenvironment.”

Sigma President Kenneth Dion, PhD, MSN, MBA, RN, RCSI, FAAN, said, “The 2023 academic and clinical honorees have taken bold action to ensure their respective work environments are healthy, welcoming places valuing representation, compassion, and collaboration.
