Jennifer Graber, EdD, APRN, PMHCNS-BC, PMHNP, is a Professor, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Practice Initiatives, and the Program Track Coordinator for the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program in the School of Nursing at the University of Delaware. She also serves as a Faculty Fellow for the UDAchieve program on mentoring through the Office of the Provost. Dr. Graber brings more than 25 years of experience as an advanced psychiatric–mental health nurse, with an extensive history of teaching psychiatric nursing at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. For over two decades, she has dedicated her career to higher education, where she has contributed significantly to academic excellence, program development, and innovation within the School of Nursing. Her leadership includes deep involvement in curriculum design, accreditation processes, program evaluation, and curricular transformation, with a focus on strengthening both undergraduate and graduate nursing education to meet evolving professional standards.
Since joining Sigma in 2006, Dr. Graber has been an engaged and passionate member, serving as a volunteer leader in appointed and elected roles at the chapter, regional, and international levels. She has held numerous board positions within her local chapter and continues to serve as Finance Chair. Her long-standing commitment to Sigma also includes more than a decade of service within the Tri-State Consortium, the organization’s longest-standing regional collaborative event. She remains an active member of the Tri-State Planning Committee, contributing to professional development, leadership opportunities, and engagement for nurses throughout the region.
An award-winning educator and advanced practice psychiatric nurse, Dr. Graber has been recognized repeatedly by the state of Delaware as a Top Nurse in Academic Education, Service and Volunteerism, and Behavioral Health. In 2023, she received the prestigious Nursing Educator Award from the International Society of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, followed by the Academic Educator Award from the American Psychiatric Nurses Association in 2024. Her decades of clinical expertise, leadership, and mentorship allow her to support the growth of diverse student populations through personalized, evidence-based educational approaches that prioritize academic excellence, professional development, and mental well-being.
