Jennifer Saylor
PhD, APRN, ACNS-BC

Jennifer Saylor, PhD, APRN, ACNS-BC, is the Associate Dean for Faculty and Student Affairs and a tenured Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Delaware. With over 20 years of experience in nursing education, she has made significant contributions to faculty development, student success, and leadership in the profession. As Director of the UD ACHIEVE Program, Dr. Saylor leads a team of Fellows to advance strategic initiatives that support high-quality faculty development. She earned her PhD from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, specializing in cardiovascular health and symptom science.
Dr. Saylor has been a dedicated Sigma member since 2000 and has served the organization in multiple leadership roles. She has been an active member of the Charter Review Task Force for nearly a decade and served on the International Governance Committee from 2017 to 2023, chairing the committee for the last four years. Her service also extends to the Beta Xi Chapter and the Tri-State Consortium.
In Delaware, she plays a key leadership role in the Nursing Workforce Coalition, working to increase diversity and strengthen the state’s nursing workforce. A frequent presenter at local, national, and international conferences, Dr. Saylor speaks on topics such as type 1 diabetes, leadership, mentoring, simulation, and professional transition. Her research focuses on workforce development and increasing diversity in nursing, as well as sleep patterns and diabetes management among young adults. Her scholarly excellence has been recognized through the J. Warren Perry Award for a top manuscript in the Journal of Allied Health and Delaware Today's Nursing Excellence Award. Dr. Saylor collaborates widely across campus to promote student success through high-impact practices. She co-creates faculty development programs that build community, support mentoring, and foster career growth. Her contributions have earned her the university-wide Faculty Excellence Award in Undergraduate Advising and Mentoring.
